This is the only laser designed specifically for LASIK
incorporating a LASIK algorithm, which calculates
the amount of laser power required with great accuracy.
It uses a 'flying spot' technology to produce a smooth
surface after the laser procedure, thereby improving
the overall quality of vision and delivers excellent
results post-operatively. Unlike other lasers, the
excimer beam does not use heat energy, it instead
breaks up bonds which link tissue. This allows the
laser to reshape the corneal surface with minimal
effect on surrounding tissues, thereby reducing the
risk of scarring.

& Lomb Hansatome Microkeratome/Zyoptix XP Microkeratome
It is an instrument to apply onto the cornea to create
a thin flap of corneal tissue with great accuracy
of up to 120 um in thickness. The flap, which is still
attached to the cornea, is flipped back to enable
the laser to reshape the corneal surface. At the end
of the laser, the corneal flap is replaced and after
5 minutes, will have adhered back to its original
position without using any stitches. The healing power
of the cornea allows the flap to heal quickly without
much scarring (unlike PRK) thereby producing excellent
results consistently.

This eye tracker continually updates the eye position
at 50 HZ (50 times per second!) during surgery. It
automatically stops the laser beam when the eye moves
beyond 3mm from the normal position. This unique safety

intended position on the cornea.
